speech sacred

Compagnie Oghma, Paris

To the Celts, Oghma, might have been a sort of equivalent of the Greek Apollo, healing god, but moreover god of Music and Poetry. Oft is he represented as an old man, whose mouth, from which spouts gold and precious amber, fascinates the crowds.

Speech is then as sacred as that of the god, and is venerated as such.

And ’tis precisely that Sacrality of speech that grasps our interest. Speech that is enough to make things exist, and moreover, sufficiently strong and truely theatrical to carry all that makes theater. Not a way of speech, of which essence is denied, neglected, but, on the contrary, a speech from which all is born, that being to us the very essence of Theatre.

Founded in 2006 by Charles Di Meglio, our company, which was first entirely devoted to Theatre, quickly enlarged its span to other arts: to cinema, with our first film, Listless angels, and to music, with our Obe – always persuing our untainted will to reach the very essence of each form of art, to analyze it, so as to serve it best, that we may be carried always further, to be built.
